Grade Three students discussed and wrote a short musical plan. It was agreed that the piece would have a clear beginning, middle and end.
Students have started to work in small groups to create a Trash/Rubbish composition. In class, they improvised together and discussed their ideas. In future lessons, students will refine and shape their ideas carefully to build their final group composition. Here are a few pieces from Mr Andy's class this week!
Grade Three students have started to explore the various sounds that they can create with Trash/Rubbish items. Here are some photos of today's class! Over the next few weeks, students have chosen to work in small groups of 3-6, to create a musical soundscape!
Students have been introduced to Stomp, as a means to explore ideas in working with different types of sound. Some students have actually seen the show live and were able to share their knowledge with the rest of the class. Here's the link to watch the video.
Grade Three students are learning about different types of sounds as part of their unit of inquiry. Please could you allow your son/daughter to bring a trash item from home such as a box or a small cartoon container which will be used as a musical instrument. They will need to bring their trash item in for their lesson commencing next Monday 17th November. Students will be learning to play set rhythmical patterns and also creating/composing their own compositions which will serve to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience.
