K1 have been exploring their new central idea "There are many different sounds that we may change or play expressively." They listened to a short puppet story and were asked to describe the feelings for a little girl and monkey puppet. They then tried out different vocal sounds to match the puppet's feelings. Later the class made up their own story for the two puppets and chose the vocal sounds to go with it!
This is "Little Girl" puppet. She is a happy girl who likes to sing! She is always on the look out for her friend monkey.
Students were asked the following questions:
1) Why do you think "Little Girl" is so happy?
2) What happy sounds can we make with our voices?
3) How does she walk, dance?
4) Would she be a good friend? why?
